LEANDRA LOMOSAD

Leandra Lomosad Anderson is an independently licensed mental health clinician and supervisor to clinicians and interns who has worked at Small Steps since 2013. Leandra earned a B. A. in Psychology, with a minor in Dance Education at Baylor University and then completed a M. S. in Counseling Psychology with Tarleton State University, while living in Texas.

Since moving to New Mexico, Leandra has trained extensively and worked exclusively with infants, children, teens, and their caregivers; focusing on relationship-based treatment that is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and developmentally attuned. Leandra holds the following specifications and qualifications: Infant Mental Health Level III Endorsement, rostering as a Child-Parent Psychotherapy trained clinician, Circle of Security Parent Program facilitator, completed Level One Theraplay & Marshak Interaction Method training, training in the Trauma Outcome Process approach for teens, training, and experience in Experiential Play Therapy, and currently completing the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Intensive Training concluding in Spring 2022.

Within treatment, Leandra seeks to provide a highly skilled, reflective, and supportive therapeutic environment. Leandra’s approach supports the individual and families to come together, make meaning, and shift into new ways of being in relationships and within our own bodies. As a somatically informed clinician incorporating knowledge of Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness, dance experience, and body-based co-regulating techniques, Leandra promotes a holistic approach to therapy and trauma healing.
