GEMMA MAJEWSKI

Gemma Majewski MA LMHC, ATR specializes in art and play therapy. She first began her journey with Small Steps in 2020 as an Intern and graduated from Southwestern College NM in 2021.

Gemma is a retired Air Force spouse from England and has lived in New Mexico since July 2017. Prior to immigrating to America she gained her bachelor’s degree (with honors) in Psychology with the Open University (UK), and a Post Graduate Diploma in Play and expressive arts therapy (UK). She is practiced in working with children and their families who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, autism, physical and developmental disabilities, adoption, attachment issues and military life including deployment cycles.

Gemma has also worked in schools for many years assisting in the classroom, managing behavior departments and educating children about emotional intelligence and yoga/meditation.Her passion lies with integrating play, sand tray, art, music, and expressive arts and feels that using tools that children connect with organically, can encourage healing, and express themselves safely to communicate their needs.

Gemma also believes that working with children can encourage healing throughout a family with a focus of love, compassion, patience, and laughter.
